Eugene Watts

To me, a beautiful mind means helping others in any way. My inspiration comes from two experiences: the death of my mother when I was 17 and an accident I had in 1991.

I belonged to a long-distance biking club and was leading a 125-mile ride. I looked back to check the riders, lost control and wound up in the hospital with a head trauma. My doctor told me to start exercising my mind as part of my therapy. I started line dancing at the high school and eventually took over teaching it. Now I teach line dancing at a two senior centers and hold classes in Harlem, as well. I'm also an avid supplement consumer and eat mostly live foods, fruits and vegetables.

Living like this keeps me connected with people and makes me take one day at a time, enjoying every moment.
